Dr Georgia Soldatos completed her MBBS with first class honours in 1997 and then went on to complete advanced training, including a PhD examining the role of AGEs in diabetic vascular disease. She is currently the Deputy Director of Diabetes and Head of the Diabetes In Pregnancy Service at Monash Health. She is also a Research Fellow at Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, at Monash University – in partnership with Monash Health. Georgia's main research interests include healthcare improvement, with a focus on improving the inpatient management of diabetes, as well as management of diabetes in the elderly. She chairs the Expert Reference Group on Older People with Diabetes, led by Diabetes Tasmania. Finally, she has an interest in the development of alternate models of care for women with GDM and is involved in PhD supervision as well as education and training.
